as-salamu `alaykum wa rahmatuLlah. . .
This took place in the precincts of the two sacred sanctuaries, on 05 November 2010. The blessed gathering comprised of: [1] a nikah ceremony conducted by al-Habib `Umar; [2] The qasidah with the chorus ‘وَالصَّلَاةُ عَلَى الْمُخْتَار نُوْرِ الْمَجَالِس’ [‘and salat be upon the chosen one, the light of gatherings’], and the qasidah of Imam al-Haddad (radhiy Allah `anh) begining with ‘سَلَامٌ سَلَامٌ كَمِسْكِ الْخِتَام’ [‘peace and perfection, like the seal of musk’]; [3] A speech clarifying the mis-understandings of those who make takfir on the author of the burdah may Allah spread his benefit, and other such issues; [4] A speech by al-Habib `Umar b. Hafiz hafizahuLlah, on various matters including the blessings of Allah, how jihad and dhikr should accompany one another (and of course, jihad has nothing to do with killing innocent non-combatents and everything to do with defence against the aggressors and those who spread fitnah), how we should avoid the evils of modern globalised/western society which destory our good character [qiyam, akhlaq] in the name of freedom, and the importance of following the shari`ah whole-hartedly in every aspect of our lives.

Jazakum Allah khayran. How did they arrange such a gathering in the Haramayn? Aren’t they illegal?

Of course they are illegal. It most likely took place at the villa/house of a sayyid/hadrami/sufi 🙂 May Allah safeguard the haramayn! I simply recorded the live stream from al-Habib’s website . . .
